Sheffield United not equipped to sign Glen Kamara as Rangers contract issue emerges
Sheffield United are not equipped to win an auction for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to The Star.
A £4million fee has been mooted for the Finland international, who is widely expected to depart the Scottish giants during the summer.
The Blades are believed to be interested in the 27-year-old, however, The Star now claim on 6 June that interest elsewhere could be hard for the Yorkshire side to compete with.

The Star write: “If so [interest emerges], then that could spark an auction United are not equipped to win unless the player decides to name England as his preferred destination.
United have tried to sign Kamara previously, however, it’s believed his wages at Ibrox were an issue.
Needs out
Kamara does need to depart this summer. He’s clearly an excellent technician, but things haven’t worked out so far under Michael Beale. The Finland international, as per the report, is one the highest earners at Ibrox and could well be moved on to make room in order for a significant overhaul to take place.
Nicolas Raskin was signed and is already ahead of Kamara in the pecking order at Ibrox. He’s at an age where he needs to be playing first-team football. A move to a Premier League side would be an impressive feat, but it’s important to remember the financial issues that engulf the Blades at present.

They may not be able to offer Kamara wages that are comparable to that on the continent. And considering he’s one of Rangers’ highest earners, he’s unlikely to be willing when it comes to big pay cut. Nonetheless, Kamara’s future is certainly one to keep an eagle eye on in the coming weeks.
