Rangers transfer news as £7m price tag placed on Cyriel Dessers
Rangers have been told they will need to pay £7million in order to land Cyriel Dessers after Cremonese placed the hefty price tag on the striker, as reported by the Scottish Daily Mail, [06 June, Back Page.]
Michael Beale is said to have already made a bid but the Italian side appears to be wanting a greater fee than they paid for Dessers last year, as the transfer activity increases at Ibrox.
Two other strikers, Sam Lammers of Atalanta and Troyes frontman Ike Ugbo are also reportedly on Beale’s shortlist so it will be interesting to see what develops in the coming weeks.

Rangers appear to be prepared to spend a significant chunk of the available budget on attacking reinforcements, as detailed in the Mail report by Mark Wilson.
“Cremonese have placed a £7million price tag on Rangers target Cyriel Dessers,” he said.
“Mail Sport revealed last week that Dessers was on a list of strikers under consideration at Ibrox, alongside Atalanta’s Sam Lammers.
“Rangers – who are poised to confirm the addition of goalkeeper Jack Butland – are understood to have made a significant opening offer.
“However, Cremonese are currently seeking more than the near-£6m fee paid to Genk for the 28-year-old last summer. It remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit will drop the asking price as they face up to the financial hit of relegation from Serie A.”

Priority
There will be some question marks over the prospects of paying such a fee for a 28-year-old with doubts about his resale value, whilst some might question the scoring record of the Nigeria international.
However, within the budget and market that Beale is operating in, Dessers is a quality option and his 10 goals in the Europa Conference League with Feyenoord last season is a testament to that. He topped the scoring charts in the competition in which they got to the final where they were defeated by Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
During that loan spell in the Netherlands, he impressed with his performances but went on to make the move to play in Italy this season with a return of six goals.
It is clear that Rangers are aiming for quality in the final third of the pitch, which is an exciting prospect for the supporters. More will follow on this development.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have been sent an injury warning regarding one of Beale’s new signings.
