Rangers and Celtic are reportedly among a host of clubs including Newcastle, Bournemouth and Liverpool in the race to sign Ryan One.

According to TEAMtalk [05 June], the 16-year-old Scottish striker appears to be on the move this summer with a preference to move to a Premier League.

He’s currently plying his trade at Hamilton Accies and played a big role in their first team this past season, but unfortunately, could not stop them from getting relegated.

Seems a talent

Rangers have signed many a talented young player over the past few years and bringing in One through the door would be a significant coup.

It won’t be big in terms of what it does for the first team, but the fact that they will have beaten Celtic and other top Premier League sides to his services.

It will be an indicator that players rate the quality of the club’s academy and see it as a place where they can thrive and become talented youngsters who can either kill it for the first team or get a dream move south of the border.

However, the fact that he wants to join a Premier League club will make things slightly more complicated and Gers will have to go above and beyond to convince him.

That shouldn’t be hard as they can offer him a trial and show them around Auchenhowie, an impressive setup, that could be a unique selling point.

Given how coveted he is, Michael Beale could also be asked to have a word with the striker’s representatives but all of that seems some way down the line.

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
