Official club partner: Rangers to announce Jack Butland signing ‘Pretty Soon’ barring ‘Last Minute Disaster’

Rangers are likely to announced the signing of Jack Butland “pretty soon” barring a “last minute disaster” according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper has spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Manchester United, but has undergone a medical with Rangers and agreed a contract to join the Ibrox club for the 2023/24 season.

And according to the club’s official partner, a deal is likely to be announced “pretty soon” and he will be the new number one goalkeeper at the club following the departure of Allan McGregor.

“Deals been agreed since as early as David mentioned it on the DU,” they wrote on their personal Twitter account (5 June).

“Once he arrives we’ll update it then there will be club announcement.

“Minus a last minute disaster he’ll be our new no1 and pretty soon in my humble opinion.”

Perfect

The Butland deal is exactly the sort of business that Rangers should be looking to do this summer, because it improves us and shouldn’t cost an absolute bomb.

A former England international, Butland will no doubt be earning a decent wage at Ibrox but it’s unlikely that we will have broken any sort of wage structure for him and there is no transfer fee either.

Considering there were reports that Manchester United were keen for him to stick around, it’s great that he has chosen regular football with us over sitting on their bench for more money.

Rangers

Ultimately he comes in and is an upgrade on our current goalkeeper options, and partnered with the other business that Michael Beale wants to do this summer we should be in a better position to challenge.

That’s three deals all but confirmed before the window is even open, so expect a very busy summer window between now and August.
