Rangers: Leon King to jet out today after international development
Rangers youngster Leon King has been called up to Scotland’s senior squad, according to the Daily Record.
The Daily Record claim on 4 June that King is set to fly out to Spain on Sunday for Scotland’s camp ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Norway and Georgia.
King had previously been called up to the under-21s for a double-header against Norway. However, the 19-year-old will now travel to La Finca to take part in senior squad training.

Deserved
King’s international recognition is richly deserved. The defender has been mightily impressive when given the chance, particularly in the early part of the campaign. The clashes against Liverpool in the Champions League were invaluable experience for the 19-year-old. He’s been in and out of the side under Michael Beale, but there’s no doubt a bright future lies ahead.
Considering his tender age, he’s racked up a good number of appearances and the international call-up will only benefit him further. It will be nice to see Beale trust King slightly more during the 2023/24 season. With Ben Davies’ future up in the air, opportunities could present themselves.

It’s also important for Beale to manage King’s development in the right way. Too often, we see younger players thrown into the deep end with extended runs of games. It’s important he plays regularly, but taking him out of the firing line from time to time will be vital.
In other Rangers news, another player could be on his way to Turkey after an official Ibrox announcement.
