Chris Sutton makes Rangers admission as Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou linked with Tottenham Hotspur
Chris Sutton compares Ange Postecoglou’s links to Tottenham Hotspur to that of Wim Jansen when Celtic ended Rangers’ hopes in 1998.
Gers wanted to win the league for the tenth consecutive season and it was understood that Jansen would be leaving at the end of the season.
However, that did not deter the Celtic players from getting the job done and Sutton admits that they will be professional once again at Hampden Park v Inverness on Saturday, 3 June, in the Scottish Cup final.

He wrote in the Daily Record on 3 June, “Today’s Scottish Cup Final has almost become an afterthought with all this talk about Spurs preparing to make their move. But I can tell you who won’t be getting distracted by the furore. The players. Honestly, they won’t be giving a toss
“Nonsense. Sure, the players might be chatting about it and considering the possibility of the manager going. But it won’t matter a jot to them walking out at Hampden today. This is the Treble. This is history. It’s huge.
“There won’t be pictures up on the walls at Celtic Park with an asterisk saying the players were put off by the speculation about their manager. When Wim Jansen left after winning the league in 1998 there would have been players who knew he was going before it came out. They still made sure they won the title and ended Rangers’ 10-in-a-row bid.”
Upset needed
Postecoglou looks to be heading to North London and will want the perfect send-off before leaving Celtic Park.
It would be great for Rangers fans if Inverness can pull off a shock result and get the job done in the Australian’s last game in charge.

Michael Beale and Gers fans would’ve wanted their side to be in the final and had the draw gone differently, it would’ve been a mouth-watering encounter.
If any side is capable of beating Celtic in the final, it’s Rangers and the chances of Inverness winning are very low.
However, form goes out of the window in cup finals so it remains to be seen how it all transpires in the next 24 hours.
Regardless of the result, Rangers have a rebuilding job in the summer and need to be focusing on that to get on parity with Celtic next season.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
