Rangers transfer news as Ben Davies exit verdict emerges at Ibrox
Rangers will not be difficult to deal with if a suitable offer is received for Ben Davies, according to 4 Lads writer, Steven Clifford in his column for the Rangers Review.
With reinforcements expected to arrive in defence at Ibrox as part of the summer rebuild, Clifford believes that the time is right to cut ties with the former Liverpool player.
Another defender was predicted to go out on loan, in an overall assessment of the squad situation that Michael Beale is presiding over at present.

Clifford touched on the recent strong form of John Souttar and the pending arrival of another central defender, as indicators of a potential sale.
“That may well leave Ben Davies’ future up in the air and if money were to come in, I doubt that Rangers would be difficult to deal with,” he said.
“I caused controversy in January after suggesting he wasn’t good enough and while remaining sceptical about that fact, I’m convinced he’s not what’s required defensively.
“Meanwhile, don’t be surprised if a loan move is on the horizon for young Leon King.”

Make it happen
This would be a transfer that would make sense for both parties.
Rangers would be able to reinvest in another option at the back, whilst Davies could return to England to a club where he is more likely to play regular football.
He is certainly not a bad player, but has he shown enough to suggest that he is a worthy first-choice pick for Beale in the upcoming season? Absolutely not.
A defensive partnership of Connor Goldson and Ben Davies isn’t going to win back the Scottish Premiership title so given that he is likely to be third or fourth choice in the new season, it is best to have a clean break.
For the reported outlay of £4million [Sky Sports], the club should be able to recoup most, if not all, of that fee from an English Championship club for a tried and tested player at that level.
It may be the right time, already.
