Jose Cifuentes will join Rangers before start of 2023/24 season – Football Scotland
Rangers will complete the signing of Jose Cifuentes before the start of the 2023/24 season despite a delay in the deal, according to Football Scotland.
The light blues have been linked with a move for the Los Angeles FC midfielder in a cut-price deal because his contract is due to expire in December.
However with the MLS club in the CONCACAF Champions League final currently, they want him to stay to play which is delaying the deal. But according to a new report there are still some delays, including the fee, but he will be signed before the start of the new season.

“His contract in MLS doesn’t expire until December but Gers hoped a deal would be done before then,” they wrote (2 June).
“Whether a fee was necessary is one issue but it is understood he will join Gers before the start of next term.”
Excellent
This deal is obviously quite advanced already and while there aren’t any full on agreements just yet, they’re inevitable at this point.
Cifuentes is a player who will come into the middle of the pitch and add great physical attributes but also some technical quality to help out with the balance.

Glen Kamara looks sure to leave the club after Michael Beale’s latest comments, and this seems to be an ideal replacement in a younger, hungrier and no doubt cheaper option.
With these deal all but done, the club are likely to be working hard on other deals too as the manager will want the vast majority of business done for pre-season to ensure the perfect preparation for the new season.
Cifuentes is coming to join Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling, plus several others most likely. It’s going to be a busy summer at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Fabrizio Romano says the club are “getting closer” to another signing.
