Rangers want to sign ‘outstanding’ Sunderland winger Jack Clarke
Rangers are keen on Sunderland winger Jack Clarke who is expected to leave the Stadium of Light this summer, according to Football League World.
The 22-year-old has had an “outstanding” season for the Black Cats and helped Tony Mowbray’s side finish in the playoff places (Football League World, 1 June).
Sunderland’s semi-final defeat to Luton Town means they now face a battle to hold onto some of their brighter young talents.

It’s believed Clarke is “very likely” to leave the North East this summer and that Rangers, Burnley, Everton, Crystal Palace and Wolves are all showing interest.
Exceptional
Clarke has finally lived up to his potential. It’s clear his move to Tottenham Hotspur came far too soon. He’s thrived in the Championship during the 2022/23 season and could easily make the step up to the Premier League. Therefore, this would be a real coup for the Gers. However, it could prove difficult to convince Clarke to move North of the border.
The winger could be holding out for a Premier League shot and who can blame him? The riches of the top flight in England could prove too good to turn down. Nonetheless, it’s good to see the Gers linked with a player of Clarke’s calibre.

Dujon Sterling has already committed his future to Rangers and Clarke would be a similar kind of signing. A younger player who has developed in the second tier before making the move to a bigger club. Rangers have been linked with numerous players in recent weeks, let’s hope one or two of these rumours turn into something more concrete.
