Rangers transfer news as Jack Butland set to jet away on holiday before move
Jack Butland is set to jet away on a family holiday before deciding on where his future lies, with the suggestion that a move to Rangers is not yet agreed, according to the Daily Record, [01 June, Page 55].
It had been suggested that the Crystal Palace goalkeeper, currently on loan at Manchester United and preparing for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, was to be confirmed as Michael Beale’s latest signing imminently but this fresh report states otherwise with a pause on proceedings.
Beale indicated last weekend that a new keeper would be arriving at Ibrox very soon, following the departure of club legend Allan McGregor.

The Record feature indicates that the England international is still to make his mind up on where he will be plying his trade next season.
“Rumours suggesting an imminent move for Jack Butland also continue to swirl although Record Sport understands that the Manchester United keeper is set to pause a final decision on his next club until after he returns from a family holiday.”

Well advanced
A signing is never done until a player is holding a scarf above his head, but as far as Beale is concerned, he has a goalkeeper deal agreed.
That was very much the message that the Gers boss delivered last weekend when asked about further arrivals. We know already that Kieran Dowell is secured, as is Dujon Sterling, with more set to follow.
There is an expectation that the Butland deal is close, however, the above report makes things interesting and if there is no update by around the middle of next week, it would point to the 30-year-old taking his time.
The new goalkeeper acquisition is such an important signing for Rangers in the coming weeks, given the need to identify and install a player who has what it takes to meet the demands at Ibrox. There is the task of filling the void left by Allan McGregor, even if the veteran most likely stayed for one campaign too many.
A high performer is needed to come in and impress, with Robby McCrorie also vying to secure the number one position.
In other Rangers news, Steven Davis has sent a heartfelt message to one exit-bound Gers ace.
