Michael Beale comments suggest Rangers transfer for Glen Kamara now likely
Rangers manager Michael Beale has spoken at length regarding the status of Glen Kamara indicating that he is set to be sold this summer.
It is no surprise that the Finland international player is heading toward the exit at Ibrox as all the signs have been pointing in that direction for some time now.
Kamara has not been a regular under Beale in recent months but he has undoubtedly been a key player in his time at the club, with the high points evidenced by his key roles in the league title triumph of 2021 and last year’s Europa League final.

Kamara and Rangers have shared a mutually beneficial relationship but it is time for both parties to go their separate ways. That sentiment was clearly shared by Beale, as reported by the Rangers Review.
“I think maybe he is one that has maybe been around here too long and maybe needs to re-bolt himself. I think he played 10 out of the first 11 games when I came here,” he said.
“Glen will go away with Finland in the summer and we will see what happens. I think Glen needs the break to really consider where he is at in his career and what he wants to do.”
“I think he needs to look at the competition that’s here in pre-season and decide whether there is going to be enough football for him.”

The challenge will be to maximise a sale for a player who is clearly talented but long past his best form in a Rangers shirt.
What makes the frustration more frustrating is that Giovanni van Bronckhorst blocked a move to Nice [Daily Express], last summer, and then the former Dundee man was used sparingly. It didn’t make sense then, or now.
At 27, Kamara clearly needs to kick-start his career. He is capable of so much more than he has been delivering recently and with a fresh start away from Ibrox, it would represent a positive change for the player as well as bringing in much-needed transfer funds for the club.
With Beale’s comments, it is clear that Kamara does feature prominently in his plans for the new campaign which should make the est a formality.
Whilst the type of figure that was talked about last season won’t be realistic, he is contracted until the end of the 2025 season meaning a decent fee is still attainable.
