Stars align for Michael Beale as Rangers on brink of double deal
Rangers have been linked with a number of players during the back end of the 2022/23 season with Michael Beale looking to revamp his squad.
Two players who look destined to be wearing the famous blue jersey next season are Jose Cifuentes and Jack Butland. Midfield enforcements are required after Scott Arfield’s departure and Allan McGregor definitely needs replacing.
According to Ecuadorian news outlet, Bola VIP, Cifuentes will sign a £10,000-a-week deal with the Gers as he closes in on his move to Ibrox. Furthermore, the midfielder has started liking tweets asking for LAFC to “sell him” (as relayed by the Daily Record on Monday, 29 May). It feels as if a move is just a matter of time.

The same can be said for Butland. According to the Daily Mail on 19 May, the 30-year-old is edging closer to moving to the Gers. It’s believed he’s accepted a pay cut to fit into Rangers’ wage structure.
Furthermore, Football Scotland report on 30 May that Manchester United’s desire to sign a new goalkeeper has boosted the Light Blues’ chances.

It appears the stars are now aligning for Beale to land both players in the coming weeks. Getting two more deals over the line will put Rangers in an excellent position heading into the pre-season.
A mass overhaul has been mooted, but that will only be possible if work is done as early as possible. With Kieran Dowell already announced, the Ibrox faithful will be hoping for some news as soon as the window opens.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
