Rangers deal to sign Dujon Sterling all but done, transfer to be official ‘very soon’ – Four Lads

Rangers signing of Chelsea defender Dujon Sterling should be made official very soon, according to club partner Four Lads Had A Dream.

The full-back had been on loan from Stamford Bridge at Sky Bet Championship side Stoke City during the 2022/23 campaign, making 28 appearances for the Potters in all competitions.

The Scottish Daily Mail revealed Rangers had reached an agreement to sign Chelsea’s Dujon Sterling on a free transfer this summer (Back page and page 77, 12 May), and the Gers had been putting the finishing touches on the move.

And according to Four Lads, taking to their personal Twitter account [30 May] the deal is now all but done and will be made official very soon.

The tweeted:

“Done.

“As previously discussed and widely reported on Solid Bosman signing, will be official very soon.”

Great planning

Rangers need to strengthen in all areas amid a very disappointing trophyless campaign for the club, who have witnessed fierce rivals Celtic topple them in every competition available.

Michael Beale is expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window, with Rangers set to be linked with a long, long list of players over the coming months.

And it seems he is edging closer to his second deal already, after agreeing to sign Kieran Dowell from Norwich City on another free transfer.

With the Rangers budget uncertain this summer, Beale will have been expected to take advantage of the free-transfer market and Sterling represents another stellar opportunity.

And the 23-year-old certainly seems a decent option for Ranger to think long-term about replacement Tavernier eventually, as his marauding presence, speed, athleticism and potential could certainly endear him to the Ibrox faithful before long.

The young defender impressed on his loan spell in the Championship with Stoke this season, showing superb versatility playing in various positions in the defence and midfield – such versatility could well prove crucial for Beale next season.

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
