Jose Cifuentes likes ‘sell him’ tweets with Rangers in advanced talks to sign LAFC midfielder after Fabrizio Romano news

LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes has started to like tweets from fans telling his club to sell him amid speculation linking him with a move to Rangers.

Speaking on his Here We Go podcast on 22 May, Fabrizio Romano reported that Rangers are in “very advanced” negotiations to sign the 24-year-old Ecuador international.

As relayed by the Daily Record on Monday (29 May), Cifuentes has now started to feed the speculation surrounding his future in Los Angeles by liking tweets saying that he needs to be sold by the MLS outfit.

The Daily Record adds that Cifuentes’ contract at LAFC expires at the end of this year and the Californian club doesn’t want to lose the Ecuadorian on a free transfer, meaning he’ll need to be sold this summer.

Not a good look

At Rangers, we don’t want any drama being added to the club other than what happens on the pitch so we really don’t want to see keyboard warriors being signed up.

Todd Cantwell ended the season superbly but his social media activity was a bit annoying. We’d sometimes just rather players shut up and do their talking out on the pitch.

If Cifuentes is going to do childish things like this when it comes to leaving then it does make us have some doubts about him and his professionalism.

Rangers

He’s still an LAFC player and has played 11 times in MLS for them this season, most recently in the 2-1 win over San Jose when he assisted one of the goals.

In fact, Cifuentes has played in all but one of LAFC’s league games this season and has only been on the losing side once. He’s clearly talented.

Reacting like this to transfer stories is what you’d expect from a teenager, not someone who’s 24 and a full international for his country.

In other Rangers news, it’s now the perfect time for the Gers to submit a new bid for an “unbelievable” relegated Premier League forward.
