Galatasaray to make official offer to Alfredo Morelos in days as Rangers exit confirmed

Galatasaray will make an official offer to Alfredo Morelos in the coming days after his Rangers exit was confirmed, according to Fotomac (29 May).

The Colombian striker has played his final game for the Ibrox club and will leave when his contract expires, making himself a free agent for the summer transfer window.

And according to Turkish media, their 2022/23 champions-elect are set to make an official offer for “El Buffalo” to take him to Turkey.

Rangers

“Working feverishly to reinforce the offensive line, Aslan stepped up his attempts for Rangers player Alfredo Morelos,” they wrote.

“According to the news in the Calendar, Galatasaray officials contacted the manager of the 26-year-old Colombian striker, whose contract will expire at the end of the season.

“Galatasaray for Morelos, is preparing to present its official offer in the coming days.”

Good move

It’s a good move for Morelos to end up in Turkey playing Champions League football should he choose to move there.

Galatasaray look like they’re going to become the champions of their domestic league as it stands, and they still want to strengthen by bringing him in.

Rangers

That’s the kind of environment that we have to hope for at Ibrox in the coming years, where winning the title simply isn’t enough and you want to start monopolising it by going from strength to strength.

We already know that Morelos is good enough to make a difference at any team he ends up at, but the decision to let him leave Rangers at this time is the right one for all involved.

His head was elsewhere and he clearly needs a new challenge and environment, while our squad has moved past the need of being built around him to just maximise his abilities.

Best of luck to him, but we’ll be better off without him here next season.

In other Rangers news, another player has “shaken hands” on a deal to join another club this summer.
