Alex Lowry sends message to Rangers teammate Scott Arfield after Ibrox announcement
Rangers youngster Alex Lowry has sent a message to teammate Scott Arfield after it was confirmed that the latter will leave the club at the end of the season.
Arfield will exit Ibrox upon the expiry of his contract, as confirmed by the official Rangers website.
Leaving the Gers with Arfield are Filip Helander, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor and Alfredo Morelos.
After impressing in his brief senior Rangers career so far, Lowry is among the players aiming to replace the outgoing players in Michael Beale’s squad.
“Scotty boy it’s been a pleasure!” Lowry wrote on Instagram. “All the very best, thanks for everything.”

Many Rangers fans undoubtedly feel that Arfield still had an important role to play under Beale, with the midfielder definitely still capable of mixing it at the top level in the Scottish Premiership.
He may still get a chance to do that, but it won’t be at Rangers, with Arfield preparing to say his goodbyes to his Gers teammates upon the expiry of his contract.
He has been a superb player over recent seasons, controlling things with his passing and tackling in midfield, but also popping up with some hugely important goals.
At the other end of his career to Lowry, Arfield has undoubtedly been a fantastic role model for the youngster, with Lowry learning a lot from the veteran, both on and off the pitch.
Arfield will definitely be missed at Ibrox, but his impending exit signifies the direction that Beale wants to take the club, which incidentally could involve Lowry becoming a key figure in the seasons to come.
