Rangers player ratings v St Mirren: Rabbi Matondo stinks, Fashion Sakala stars
Rangers ended the season in comfortable fashion as they raced to a 3-0 victory against St Mirren on Saturday, 27 May, in the SPFL.
Fashion Sakala bagged two goals and Antonio Colak added a third after coming off the bench in the second half.
Most players had decent games, but some performances were questionable, to say the least.

Here are our player ratings for the game:
Robby McCrorie – 6
A quiet game where he didn’t have to do too much bar make that one save. He did contribute to the build-up whenever called upon and there wasn’t much to fault in his game.
James Tavernier – 4
A quiet game for the Rangers captain who did not see as much of the involvement in the final third as he would’ve liked. He was wayward with his crosses, completing just one all game and he lost most of his duels too, so it was a forgettable afternoon for him. [Sofascore]
John Lundstram – 8
Did a very good job at centre-back and this is perhaps one thing Beale may consider for next season as he’s clearly not got the legs to run box to box. His pass accuracy was north of 90 per cent and he was a menace for the St Mirren attackers on the day. Top display.
John Souttar – 7
Much like Lundstram, there was very little to fault in Souttar’s game as he was on it from the start and seldom put in a foot wrong. He will be proud of his effort and he needs to put in more of these performances for Rangers in the future.

Ridvan Yilmaz – 5
Had a quiet game compared to his relatively impressive performances in recent games. The Turk showed signs of being the real deal but then his decision making let him down on occasion. There was not much riding on this one so he will be given a pass but it remains to be seen for how long.
Todd Cantwell – 7
Was pinpoint with his passing and kept things ticking and always looked to force the initiative in the final third. He’s been a really shrewd signing by Beale and has managed to get his career back on track. He is undoubtedly one of the undroppables in this Rangers side.
Nicolas Raskin – 5
Did not have the best of games as he failed to impose himself in the heart of midfield. He won just one of his eight attempted ground duels, which is not good as it saw the midfield open and gave St Mirren opportunities to score. He also lost possession on seven occasions. However, his assist for the third goal upped him to a more favourable rating.
Ryan Jack – 6
A solid display from the experienced midfielder. He kept drifting wide to link up with Yilmaz and Matondo and occupied the left half space pretty efficiently. Hopefully, he uses the break to work on his fitness and manages to stay fit for next season.
Ianis Hagi – 6
One of the Romanian’s better games as he now is appearing to be fully fit from his long-term injury concern. Rangers will be delighted to have his industry and movement in the final third and he’s going to be some player for them next season.
Fashion Sakala – 9
The final day of the season was Sakala’s best performance of the season. A player so talented, as he’s shown here, failed to replicate this in the majority of matches. However, taking nothing away from today’s performance and he will be delighted to score a brace and will perhaps cement his place for next season.

Rabbi Matondo – 3
Another poor performance from the Wales international who, unlike Sakala, did not take the chances he was given in the final third. It’s baffling how he managed to stay on the pitch despite Sakala being on a hat-trick as he did absolutely nothing to merit his spot in the team. None of his crosses found the desired target and he also lost most of his attempted duels.

Antonio Colak – 6

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
