Jose Cifuentes likes Rangers tweet as Ibrox edges closer

Jose Cifuentes has liked a tweet welcoming him to Rangers as his move to Ibrox edges closer to being completed.

The 4th Official reported that the Light Blues are set to pay a nominal fee for the 24-year-old midfielder, who is set to seal his move to the Scottish giants.

Cifuentes has since liked a number of tweets from Rangers fans on his personal Twitter account.

It appears the move for the Ecuadorian is now on the verge of completion and Michael Beale will be delighted to get a deal over the line.

Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling are all close to signing for the Gers in what has been an extremely busy early part of the summer for the Rangers boss.

He’s clearly trying to get the majority of his summer business done early. Beale has talked up a major squad overhaul and the more business he gets done early, the more chance he has of bringing in ten or eleven faces for the start of the new campaign.

Plenty of work needs to be done. Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander all need replacing. It’s certainly opened up a large part of Beale’s budget. Cifuentes could well be a replacement for Arfield.

Alternatives for Kent and Morelos could be harder to come by. The attacking pair have been immense for the Gers over a number of years, but now is the right time for the parties to go their separate ways. Rangers fans will have to wait a little longer for attacking reinforcements to be made.

In other Rangers news, a reshuffle is confirmed as another backroom change is set to take place in the coming weeks.
