Sky Sports journalist delivers £30m Rangers transfer verdict after Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent announcement
Rangers announced that a number of first-team players including Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos will be leaving the club this summer.
The duo’s contracts at Ibrox will run out in June and they will not be penning an extension to continue in Glasgow beyond the summer.
This will see Rangers not making any money from their departures, which Sky Sports’ Andrew Dickson believes would’ve been to the tune of £30million.
Via Twitter, Dickson wrote, “Hopefully lessons can be learned from the decisions taken over Morelos and Kent as they’ve run their contracts down. Could feasibly have made the club £30m two years ago and the call to keep them rather than sell last summer was ultimately the wrong one.”
Bad planning
Morelos has been wanting to leave Rangers for a while and it was pretty clear that his head is not in the game.

They should’ve cashed in on him when they had the chance but they did not do that and it cost them dearly.
He’s undoubtedly got the talent of being the club’s biggest ever export if his exit was handled correctly but nothing at Rangers ever is.
Hopefully, with this squad overhaul and changes behind the scenes, there’s going to be a new look to the club next summer.
Michael Beale said that he’s been promised money to strengthen the squad and it’s time for the club to deliver on their promises.
They need two top class attackers, a solid midfielder, defender and goalkeeper at the very least so the planning needs to begin now.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
