Jose Cifuentes agreement on verge as agent closes in on Rangers transfer
Rangers are on the verge of a deal to sign Jose Cifuentes with his agent said to be closing in on an agreement with the club, according to the Daily Record.
It is also understood that Los Angeles FC would rather sell the player immediately rather than lose him nothing on a free transfer at the end of the MLS season.
Recent reports in the player’s homeland have also intimated that the 24-year-old is set for a switch to Glasgow, with his contract running out in December.
The Record report from Scott Burns indicated just how close the club is to securing one of its prominent targets for the new season.
“Cifuentes’ agent, Stefan Jarrin, was in Glasgow earlier this month for talks and to take in the recent derby with Celtic,” he said.
“Jarrin is now in the final stages of closing a deal for the 24-year-old.

“Cifuentes has been on Rangers’ radar for more than a year, with the Light Blues have been tracking him since Gio van Bronckhorst was the manager.”

Having spoken previously about getting his business done early, the Gers boss is starting to deliver on that front, with further transfer news to come this week.
After three and a half years in MLS with LAFC, the player now has his attention turned to Europe with plenty of attractions offered at Ibrox.
Cifuentes will relish the prospect of competing for trophies as well as the ability to play in the Champions League or Europa League, where he can test himself against the best.
