Craig Moore in talks with James Bisgrove amid behind-the-scenes vacancy at Rangers
Former Rangers player Craig Moore is reportedly in talks with James Bisgrove over the general running of the Ibrox outfit.
While no talks are ongoing about any specific role, there is the need to replace Ross Wilson as the sporting director at the club.
Moore has thrown his hat in the ring to replace him and the fact that he’s held in high regard by the club hierarchy will certainly benefit him a great deal.

Scotsman journalist Barry Anderson told Keep Up, “His recruitment background involves a Director of Football stint at Brisbane Roar, plus work as a football agent and player advisor. He knows the parameters in both roles and the fact they overlap gives him plenty of relevant experience to replace Ross Wilson at Ibrox.
“Wilson recently quit to take up a similar position at Nottingham Forest in England. It is a massive job to fill and whoever gets it must be capable of shouldering the responsibility.
“Moore is in contact with the recently-appointed Rangers chief executive James Bisgrove, although not about any specific roles at the moment. There are definite benefits for any club appointing an ex-player in a sporting director capacity.”
“They understand how a footballer’s mind works, how contract negotiations must be handled delicately, and what a club’s structure should look like.”
Makes sense
Ex players know the club inside out and especially someone like Moore who’s spent over a decade at the club in his two stints.
He’s made over 150 league appearances for the Ibrox outfit and it’s certainly a team that he holds extremely close to his heart.
Rather than appointing someone who’s in it for the money, it does make sense to bring in someone with an emotional attachment to the club as well.

Rangers could move from the sporting director model and maybe bring in someone on the football operations side while the other one is in the administration part of things.
They need to make these decisions soon as Michael Beale is going to require support in getting his desired targets over the line.
Moore is an interesting shout and he wants the job so it remains to be seen if Bisgrove and co end up bringing him to the club.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
