Rangers set to make announcement on players to leave the club

Michael Beale commented that Rangers are set to confirm permanent exits from the club, very soon, as reported by the Rangers Review.

The manager was speaking at the press conference on Friday afternoon, ahead of the Scottish Premiership meeting with Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.

After the weekend, news is set to follow with the rebuild already underway, behind the scenes at the club.

Beale indicated that a glimpse of the future is just around the corner, in more ways than one.

“After the weekend we will formally let everyone know the players leaving,” he said.

“Zak Lovelace and Bailey Rice are away on international duty so one or two other young lads will get opportunities to come round the first-team side.”

Take the opportunity

Last week against Celtic, Lovelace and Alex Lowry were given the final few minutes and there will be an expectation that the talented Uddingston-born attacker will get some decent exposure over the final trio of fixtures.

Leon King could start on Sunday, due to the injury picked up by Connor Goldson in the Old Firm win so it will be interesting to see the Gers line-up for the game in Leith.

So, three games remain off this campaign, over the next week, as the curtain comes down on what has been a very disappointing season despite the early promise that came in the form of Champions League qualification.

From there, the first team fell off a cliff edge under Giovanni van Bronckhorst before Beale returned to the club to restore relative stability, even though the stakes have now increased in terms of the task to return to the top of Scottish football.

The rebuild that will take shape over the next few months will be an exciting and intriguing one, but the only thing that really matters is for it to be successful.
