Connor Goldson misses out through injury, Leon King to get rare start - Rangers predicted XI v Hibernian

Michael Beale is likely to be forced into some changes for his Rangers side for their clash with Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

The light blues claimed a 3-0 win over Celtic last time out to end the season on a positive note, but still have a few games to navigate before the campaign officially comes to an end.

And while Beale wants to go strong, injuries are going to play a part in his team selection for the game at Easter Road after he revealed the team news during his pre-match press conference on Friday (19 May).

Robby McCrorie is going to keep his place in goal after consecutive clean sheets since coming into the side, with Beale very impressed by what he has seen so far.

James Tavernier is set to make his 400th appearance for the club and continues to play well, so will keep his right-back spot for the foreseeable future. At left-back Borna Barisic is still absent so Ridvan Yilmaz will continue in the side.

John Souttar got a huge goal in the Old Firm derby last time out and will continue in place of the injured Ben Davies, but now Connor Goldson is likely to miss the game after picking up an injury which should provide young Leon King the opportunity to get a rare start.

Nicolas Raskin is the new face of the midfield under Beale so he will start, while Ryan Jack should be able to celebrate signing a new one-year contract at Rangers by continuing their blossoming partnership together.

Malik Tillman, Ryan Kent and Antonio Colak remain out injured for the game which mean that the attacking options are slimmer for Beale than they would usually be.

Todd Cantwell has been shining with his freedom in attack and could be floated out to the right wing in order for the experienced Scott Arfield to come into the side in his preferred number ten role supporting the striker.

Rabbi Matondo has performed well on the left-wing since being given an opportunity recently, with his pace causing a lot of problems and freeing up plenty of space for midfielders to run into also.

Up front Fashion Sakala is likely to continue with Colak and Roofe injured, while Morelos’ Ibrox career is as good as done.

In other Rangers news, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the club are entering “crucial” talks to complete another new signing.
