Rangers ‘nothing to play for’ verdict shared ahead of Scottish Premiership clash v Hibernian
Rangers have “nothing to play for” in terms of silverware in their clash with Hibernian on Sunday (21 May), according to Sky Sports journalist Alison Conroy.
The Gers make the trip to Easter Road on the back of their 3-0 victory over Celtic last Saturday (13 May).
Micheal Beale’s men currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership table, with Hibs sitting fifth.

“The Ibrox side have nothing to play for in terms of silverware, but there will be some of the squad fighting to prove they deserve a place for next season,” Conroy wrote for Sky Sports.
“Hibs still have plenty to play for with European football on the cards for Lee Johnson’s side.
“They go into this round of fixtures in fifth, just one point behind Edinburgh rivals Hearts.”

Strange situation
It’s a really strange situation that Gers boss Beale has found himself in, with the manager boasting a strong record at Rangers but still finding himself under pressure in the dugout due to Celtic’s success this season.
But given his business in trying to recruit new players before the summer transfer window has even begun, it’s clear that he isn’t happy with the current situation at Ibrox.
There is, of course, nothing to play for in terms of trophies after they bowed out of the Scottish Cup and after Celtic lifted the Scottish Premiership title, but plenty of players will be playing for their futures in the coming weeks.
But even then the manager might have already made his mind up about who is in and who is out next season from the current crop, with Beale simply winding down the clock until the final ball is kicked this season.
In other Rangers news, one Gers ace is a player that “appears to fit the bill” at Preston North End, according to LancsLive.
