Long-term contract for Jose Cifuentes close as player’s agent gets VIP Rangers tours
The agent of Rangers target Jose Cifuentes was given a VIP tour of the club’s training facilities, according to the Daily Record.
Stefan Jarrin was also in attendance for the Scottish Premiership clash between the Gers and Celtic on Saturday, which the former won 3-0.
Cifuentes, who currently plays for Los Angeles FC, is reportedly close to signing a long-term deal at Ibrox with the transfer overhaul in full flow already.

“Jose Cifuentes is close to becoming Michael Beale’s third signing as Rangers manager and it looks to have taken a step closer after the MLS star’s agent was given the VIP treatment at Ibrox,” according to the Daily Record.
“The Ecuadorian midfielder looks set to sign a long-term deal at Ibrox as Beale looks to rebuild his squad ahead of next season.
“Ahead of a potential move to Govan Cifuentes’ agent Stefan Jarrin attended the Scottish Premiership game against Celtic on Saturday and was given a tour around the training facilities at the Rangers Training Centre.”

Interesting strategy
Rangers haven’t always got their transfer strategy right, both when it comes to signing players and players being allowed to leave.
The impending free transfers of senior stars Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos highlight the latter issue, with many Gers fans left scratching their heads as to how they could lose two such high-profile players for nothing.
But the VIP treatment of the agent of a potential signing should be seen as a positive step, with Rangers clearly viewing Cifuentes as a key target ahead of the new campaign.
His agent will have undoubtedly enjoyed watching the Gers defeat their fierce rivals at Ibrox, in what was an important victory for Michael Beale regardless of the wider circumstances at play.
It can’t be said for sure if it was the manager himself who organised the trip, but given his business in other potential signatures before the current season has even finished, it can be said to some degree of certainty that Beale played a part in the tours.
In other Rangers news, one Gers ace will leave and likely move abroad because he isn’t getting enough game time to warrant staying, according to Peter Grant.
