Glen Kamara could exit Rangers as Fabrizio Romano shares Jose Cifuentes update
Rangers are reportedly closing in on a move for LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes – and that could well spell the end for Glen Kamara.
Football Scotland claim (17 May) Michael Beale is a “massive” fan of the Finland international, who has endured an inconsistent 2022/23 season. However, it’s understood the 27-year-old could depart Ibrox this summer.
Kamara’s exit now looks more nailed on with The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano reporting (via his personal Twitter, 18 May) that Cifuentes could well be on his way to Rangers.
It’s understood the Gers are “advancing” in talks with the MLS side and that negotiations are now at a “crucial” stage.
The Ecuadorian’s agents have met with Rangers and it’s believed all parties are confident of a deal being concluded. If the 24-year-old does join, Kamara’s future could well be thrown into doubt. He’s contracted to the Gers until 2025, so the board could potentially land a decent transfer fee.

We all know that Beale has big plans this summer, with there being a number of potential transfers in the pipeline. However, as a result, there will have to be departures. With Ryan Jack set to sign a new deal and Nicolas Raskin only joining in January, Kamara would seem like the most likely midfield candidate to depart.
With John Lundstram also featuring regularly under Beale, Kamara is right to be worried about Cifuentes’ potential arrival.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
