Rangers transfer update: James Bisgrove shares ‘well advanced’ verdict on Michael Beale overhaul
Rangers director James Bisgrove has spoken out for the first time and shared that discussions with prospective signings this summer are progressing well, with updates to be shared soon.
Michael Beale has made no secret of the immense amount of changes to his first-team squad needed at Ibrox this pre-season.
With the 2022/23 campaign coming to an end, the attention has turned to off-the-field matters as Beale looks to reshape his squad and things have already kicked off with the likes of Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell, and Dujon Sterling close to walking through the Ibrox doors.

And speaking exclusively to Rangers TV [17 May], the Gers CEO told fans that the board fully support Beale’s plans ahead of what plans to be a significant summer of change at Ibrox.
He said: “The manager has spoken about this summer being quite a transformative one for this squad.
“He’s also presented a very clear plan which is a body of work that’s taken place across many months led by John Park, our chief scout, from a recruitment point of view.
“He’s presented the plan for what he wants the squad to look like next season.
“That plan is fully supported by the board and we are reasonably well advanced in a number of discussions that will underpin that plan in terms of player recruitment.
“I think there will be some updates and announcements on that in due time.
“The plan that Michael has presented to the board is a really, really exciting one in terms of the transformation of the team and what he wants to put on the park for next season.
Promising
Finally, the Rangers fans get some of the transparency and information they have long been waiting for ahead of what will be a significant summer of change and transformation at Ibrox.
Things have certainly been quiet among the Gers board for too long, and it’s promising to hear that Beale is being fully supported and backed as he looks to reshape an ailing squad.

The gulf in class and quality when coming comparing Rangers and Celtic has been evident for much of the season, which has certainly left a sour taste in fans’ mouths, and that could well get even worse with Celtic on course to complete another treble.
The pressure is on Beale and his staff to get things right this summer, and that means targeting and recruiting the ideal targeting for his plan as well as shipping out the unwanted players.
Things have certainly started off promisingly with Butland, Dowell and Sterling set to walk through the Ibrox doors soon. Let’s hope things continue from here moving forward. It’s important Bisgrove sticks to his word or things could get real toxic.
In other Rangers news, an official Gers partner has given the run down after a club legend has been linked to a sensational takeover return.
