Chelsea sensation Dujon Sterling may be sold Rangers dream amid Ibrox transfer links – BBC journalist
BBC Stoke journalist Angela Smith believes that Chelsea sensation Dujon Sterling may already be sold the Rangers dream amid links.
Football Scotland reported on 17 May that the young right-back had rejected a new deal at Stamford Bridge as he closes in on a move to Ibrox.
While he has said that he’s open to returning to Stoke, Rangers appear to be the more promising prospect for the 23-year-old.

Smith told Rangers Review, “We’ve always felt that he might go on to a bigger club and you don’t get much bigger than Glasgow Rangers and then, of course, there’s the lure of international and Champions League football there. He’ll go to where he obviously gets well paid but he’s an ambitious player and I think he’s already been sold the Rangers dream.”
Get it done
While Sterling may be a right-back, he’s capable of playing on the left as well and that’s the sort of versatility one needs in a modern full-back.
James Tavernier may have another season or two at his best and if the 23-year-old can prove that he’s a better defensive asset than the Rangers captain, he soon could make the position his own.
Tavernier has been lauded for his attacking output but defensively, he has always been questioned for his positioning and other aspects.

Sterling is also an attack-minded full-back, but if he’s got more positional discipline and is better at winning the ball back from the opposition, it’s only a matter of time before he gets picked over the 31-year-old.
The fact that he’s snubbed a new deal at Chelsea suggests that he’s keen on making the move this summer and Rangers must now not waste any time and look to get the deal over the line.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
