Rangers ace Glen Kamara transfer verdict shared as Michael Beale ‘massive fan’ claim made

Glen Kamara could leave Rangers this summer despite Michael Beale being a “massive fan” of the midfielder, according to journalist Mark Hendry.

The Finland international joined the Scottish giants from Dundee in January 2019 for just £50,000.

He has made 34 appearances in all competitions this summer but has largely watched on from the bench in recent times under Beale with French clubs backed to return to previous interest.

“Beale was a massive fan of the silky Fin when first at Ibrox but it’s just not worked out this time,” Hendry wrote for Football Scotland. “The midfielder has struggled to establish himself and he’s been reduced to a bit-part player this year with just 32 outings in all competitions.

“He was wanted by clubs in France when it appeared Nico Raskin was Gers’ target last summer and in January and the same outfits could return this summer, again.

“No matter the fee it’ll be better than the £50k they spent on him in 2019 and prove a successful stint for the player.”

Summer exit likely

Kamara has been a fantastic servant for Rangers ever since his move from Dundee, with the Fin slotting into the midfielder at Ibrox superbly.

The former Arsenal youngster has enjoyed his time at Ibrox, helping the club lift the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup in 2020/21 and 2021/22 respectively.

But now it seems that a Rangers exit is very likely this summer, given his lack of playing time and the impending rebuild at Ibrox.

Beale is certain to strengthen in midfield in the transfer window, with Kamara one of the players expected to give way to allow space for new arrivals.

Rangers will definitely benefit from his sale financially, while the player himself should also benefit as there should be no shortage of suitors lining up for his signature.

At 27, Kamara still has plenty of energy and dynamism that could help a number of clubs, with a return to England potentially on the cards.

In other Rangers news, Tony Weston is reportedly among several players to be released by the club ahead of the summer transfer window in a B-Team overhaul.
