Ross Wilson leaves Rangers six-figure gift as EFL transfer news emerges
Bristol City are set to complete the signing of former Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie from Aberdeen, according to Bristol Live.
The Scotsman claim on Tuesday 16 May, that Rangers are set to be entitled to a six-figure fee if the £2million deal goes through.
City boss Nigel Pearson has revealed (Bristol Live, 16 May) that he believes the signing of the 25-year-old is close to being confirmed after beating off other Championship interest.
This looks like a really smart piece of business from the Gers. McCrorie was a squad player at best and the decision by Ross Wilson to put a sell-on clause in the agreement with Aberdeen made a lot of sense.
Despite it only being a minimal six-figure fee, it’s cash which could be used to fund a more competitive wage packet for a potential target. Every little helps for Rangers in the summer window.
There’s been plenty of rumours on the transfer front and the fanbase will be hoping for a large-scale overhaul when the 2022/23 season does conclude. Michael Beale has made no secret of his desire to change the make-up of the squad in the coming weeks.

Dujon Sterling looks nailed on to complete his move to Ibrox. Kieran Dowell is edging close to moving north of the border. And Jack Butland looks set to be the man to replace Allan McGregor. There’s plenty more to be done, but this is a promising start.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
