Rangers could thrash out £10m double deal with Ibrox talks scheduled

Malik Tillman’s future at Rangers hangs in the balance after the Bayern Munich forward’s time at Ibrox reached its conclusion.

The 20-year-old was ruled out for the season and has since returned to the Bundesliga club as questions over his future begin to emerge. According to The Times on 6 February, Rangers have the option to sign the American for £5million in the summer.

However, at present, it’s unclear whether a deal will materialise. Michael Beale is a fan and will no doubt want the attacker back next season. £5million is a significant amount and ultimately the board will have the final say when it comes to his future.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Tillman rated his chances of an Ibrox return at “50/50” which does give fans some sort of reason to be positive (quoted by Rangers Review, 15 May). It’s understood the American is set to hold talks with Beale in the coming days.

There have been reports of the Gers looking at other options in attacking areas. Aris FC winger Luis Palma is a player who is firmly on Beale’s radar. The Greek side’s sporting director Robert Palikuca has confirmed that Rangers are indeed interested in the 23-year-old Honduran winger (Deportes TVC (15 May).

It’s believed Palma is available for £4.4million. With a lot going on behind the scenes, it’s unclear whether Tillman’s return would impact a move for Palma, but it’s good to see the Gers consider both players. If the duo were to move to Ibrox, it could see just under £10million in transfer fees thrashed out.

That would be a serious show of intent by the board. An attack with Palma, Tillman, Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell is an exciting prospect.

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
