Neil Lennon shares Rangers and Celtic summer transfer window verdict live on talkSPORT

Neil Lennon says it is “exciting times” for Rangers as Michael Beale plans his summer rebuild at Ibrox.

The Gers boss is expected to make a big statement in the transfer window as he looks to build a team capable of challenging Celtic next season.

Former Celtic manager Lennon believes that both Scottish clubs are in for a busy time in the coming months ahead of the new campaign, with changes expected.

The Bhoys lifted their second successive Scottish Premiership title earlier this month, as well as beating Rangers in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup.

“Michael has gone on record to say that he wants to rebuild his squad, so it’s exciting times for both the teams going into next season,” Lennon said live on talkSPORT.

Huge summer shake-up incoming

Both Celtic and Rangers are certain to delve into the summer transfer window ahead of the new campaign, but it’s clear that the latter are in bigger need of a rebuild.

The Gers have fallen behind their fierce rivals this season in all competitions, in what has been a trying time for manager Beale.

The boss has a big job on his hands at Ibrox in the coming months, with Beale needing to sort out both player arrivals and exits as soon as possible in order to get as much face time with his new squad before the new campaign starts.

He has already been busy in this regard, with a handful of players reportedly close to signing deals at Ibrox, and a few more being eyed.

As for the rest of the current campaign, all that remains is for several members of the squad to either play their way in or out of Beale’s future plans.
