Josh McPake surely played last Rangers game at Ibrox as transfer news emerges

Josh McPake may never feature for Rangers again as chances of him leaving permanently in the summer appear to be high.

According to the Daily Record [15 May, 17:59], Queen’s Park were in talks to sign him in January but pulled the plug on that deal.

With his deal running out in the summer of 2024, this may be the last window they can get something from his services and the club are still undecided over his future.

However, given the fact that his first game for the club came in 2019 at Ibrox and he hasn’t featured since then, going out on loan year after year, it seems like he’s not quite got what it takes to play for Rangers.

On loan at Queen’s Park, there had been reports of the 22-year-old having disciplinary issues and that does not spell well for him if he does want to make it into Michael Beale’s side.

Rangers are already planning an overhaul in the summer and there’s a good chance that McPake is part of the bunch to be shown the door.

He hasn’t done enough on loan to show that he deserves a chance being a regular at any SPFL side, let alone Rangers, so it makes little sense to keep hold of the dead weight.

Given his age, they can still conjure up a decent transfer fee and use that to reinvest in young talents they’ve been tracking as they’ll have a better chance of becoming first-team regulars in the future.

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
