Alfredo Morelos sends six-word message after Rangers Old Firm snub

Alfredo Morelos has sent a six-word message as the 26-year-old’s time at Rangers nears its conclusion.

The Colombian was an unused substitute for the Gers during their 3-0 win over Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon (13 May).

Morelos is set to depart at the end of the season when his contract expires, and the controversial striker has posted on Instagram after the win over Celtic.

“Only faith in you my God,” wrote the Colombian (14 May).

Sad ending

It’s certainly a sad ending for Morelos at Rangers. The Colombian has been an integral part of the Light Blues’ success in recent years, but fans will remember the manner of his departure. Realistically, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is somewhat to blame.

The Colombian should have been sold in the summer of 2022. The fact his contract has been allowed to run on is a mistake and the board must be held accountable. He’s at an age where he can probably land another big contract and test himself elsewhere.

Rangers

Beale has been tentative when it comes to Morelos’ future. The Rangers boss should’ve been upfront from the start and admitted that he was never going to commit his future to the club. It’s a shame he didn’t get a run out against the Hoops, but Beale has probably had enough at this point.

It will be interesting to see where he heads next. On his day, he is a talented player but inconsistency could well be his down fall at a higher level.

In other Rangers news, another senior player is set to depart Ibrox.
