Kenny Miller raves about ‘superb’ Todd Cantwell after Rangers win vs Celtic, drops ‘new hero’ verdict
Kenny Miller believes Rangers have a “new hero” in Todd Cantwell following his “superb” display against Celtic on Saturday (13 May).
The 25-year-old scored his club’s opening goal after just five minutes in the 3-0 Scottish Premiership win at Ibrox.
He now has four goals from his 17 Rangers matches following his January move from Norwich City and Sky Sports pundit Miller is delighted.

“His contribution was superb yesterday when Rangers weren’t in possession, in terms of his tracking back and turning Celtic over,” Miller wrote for the Daily Record. “He hustled their players into mistakes with his pressing and breaking up of their play.
“If he hits the ground, he gets back up and he’s at them straight away. Cantwell took the game to Celtic and that’s what’s been missing at Ibrox for a while now. That’s the type of performance Rangers need from their big players.
“And he fully deserved his standing ovation from the supporters when he came off. They need a new hero and Cantwell looks like he fits the bill.”

Finding his feet again
All of English football is fully aware of just how talented Cantwell is, with the midfielder producing dazzling displays during his time in the Premier League not too long ago.
While at Norwich as a youngster, he took the top flight by storm with a string of superb performances, endearing himself to fans of the Canaries at such a young age.
Unfortunately for Cantwell, however, those magical moments started to dry up, with a few barren years passing by.
But now more mature on and off the pitch, the 25-year-old is recreating those moments in Scotland, with Michael Beale’s leap of faith on the player earlier this year proving to be a fantastic decision.
Cantwell will most certainly be a central figure at Ibrox next season, with the manager now needing to bring in players of a similar quality to try and take the title challenge to fierce rivals Celtic.
In other Rangers news, James McFadden laid waste to one Gers player for his “dreadful” attitude shown throughout this season, ahead of what will be a “huge” summer for the club.
