Celtic unscathed despite Rangers Old Firm hammering – Gary Keown
The Scottish Daily Mail’s Gary Keown believes Celtic will be mentally unscathed after their 3-0 Old Firm defeat against Rangers.
Michael Beale’s side produced a fine display to register their first victory of the season over Ange Postecoglou’s men.
In his latest column, Keown feels the Hoops will return to Parkhead with “no scars” having won the Scottish Premiership at a canter.

“There will be no psychological scars left on a Celtic side that included five guys who could hardly be termed first-team picks and won the league at a canter,” wrote Keown (Scottish Daily Mail, pg 111, 14 May).
Promising
The win over Celtic has given the Gers a reason to be optimistic. We know Celtic made changes but their motivation would’ve been the same heading into the fixture. At no point does an Old Firm clash lose its importance. Beale’s men know they can match the Hoops.
They were unlucky when the two sides met at Parkhead last month. There have been some positive moments, with individual errors to blame for many of their defeats this season. If Rangers can remove the costly mistakes, they will be a match for Celtic next season.

A repeat of this season cannot occur. Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson were essentially to blame, but now the pressure is firmly on Beale heading into the summer.
There are a number of signings in the pipeline and the Light Blues boss will be expected to bring success back to Ibrox as soon as possible. A busy off-season is a must.
In other Rangers news, James McFadden laid waste to one Gers player for his “dreadful” attitude shown throughout this season, ahead of what will be a “huge” summer for the club.
