Rangers transfer news as £15m Karlan Grant now on Ibrox agenda
Rangers want to sign £15million attacker Karlan Grant from West Brom this summer, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.
Grant, 25, has struggled for a regular starting spot in Carlos Corberan’s Albion side this term but has previously shone for the Championship outfit, netting 18 goals from 44 appearances in the 2021/22 season.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday (10 May), Witcoop shared that the Baggies were open to offers for the forward, who they signed from Huddersfield Town for £15million in 2020.

“West Brom will listen to offers for striker Karlan Grant this summer,” he wrote.
“Grant has Championship admirers while Scottish side Rangers have registered an interest.
“Grant signed a six-year deal when he joined the Baggies for £15m in 2020, but he can now leave Albion.”
Lack of recent form
Michael Beale’s need for further centre-forwards has been well documented lately, with Alfredo Morelos set to leave the club at the end of the season and Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe both susceptible to injuries this season.
Although Grant has previously been in the goals for West Brom, his lack of recent form remains a concern.
A £15million player doesn’t turn into a bad player overnight, but even since being given a run in the West Brom team lately due to injuries, the Englishman has failed to deliver the goods.
Of course, a move of clubs could represent an opportunity to start afresh for Grant, but this feels like one to avoid for the Gers.
West Brom will be looking for every penny they can get for the striker due to their financial struggles of late, and Rangers must ensure they aren’t drawn into a bidding war with the fellow Championship admirers.
Grant is the right-profile striker for Rangers to consider signing, just at the wrong time.
In other Rangers news, the club have already sorted a permanent summer signing with a deal to bring in one English Championship player “already agreed.”
