New Rangers contract to be signed by Ryan Jack as Ibrox news emerges

Ryan Jack is on the verge of agreeing a one-year contract extension with Rangers, according to SunSport.

Jack, 31, has made 35 appearances for the Gers this season and Michael Beale is keen to make him a part of his squad moving forward.

Talks regarding a new contract have progressed well in recent weeks with an agreement set to be rubber-stamped.

The midfielder has attracted attention from clubs north and south of the border, but he is desperate to remain at Ibrox, with his family also settled in the Glasgow area.

Great news

Although the season is yet to come to a close, it is promising to see Beale looking forward towards the summer transfer window and looking to get as much early business done as possible.

A number of Rangers players see their contracts at Ibrox this summer and are expected to leave the club in turn, however fans have been calling for Jack to pen a new contract for months now.

The midfielder has been a shining light in an otherwise drab season from a Rangers perspective, being called upon by Beale to play in the middle of the park for the club’s key games when fully fit.

Jack’s recent revival has also seen him regularly feature for the Scotland international team.

Having an experienced pair of hands in the middle of the park will do the likes of Nicolas Raskin, who is still assimilating into the Scottish Premiership, the world of good.

Hopefully, this contract can be signed and sealed before the season comes to a close, and the club can look at acquiring transfer targets elsewhere.

In other Rangers news, a £20million transfer budget has been mooted to complete all of the necessary business during the window.
