Chris Jack speculates Michael Beale sack decision at Rangers, manager can ‘determine his own fate’

Rangers manager Michael Beale can “determine his own fate” by having a good summer transfer window, according to journalist Chris Jack.

The Gers are set to undergo a major shake-up at the end of the season following a disappointing campaign.

That looks certain to involve several incomings and outgoings at Ibrox as the Gers prepare to build a side capable of challenging Celtic next season.

“The work that Michael Beale does in the transfer market will shape Rangers’ fortunes and determine his own fate,” Jack wrote for The Herald.

“This is the chance that he has been waiting for since he replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst and he must make the most of the opportunity that will arrive in a matter of weeks now.”

Beale needs to be ruthless

Beale will definitely be given time at the beginning of next season to try and work with what will definitely be a new-look Gers side.

But it won’t be much time at all, with the manager in line for a potential early exit should Rangers not start the new campaign strongly.

The manager is currently tasked with not only building a strong starting XI for next season, but also a strong squad that will be capable of challenging on all fronts.

As always, the European campaign will start early on in the summer, meaning Beale won’t have a lot of time to bring in some fresh blood.

It means he has perhaps already made his mind up on several potential outgoings, with a handful of players expected to leave in the coming weeks upon the expiry of their contracts.

Beale will need to be ruthless this summer, with the Rangers board set to be ruthless with Beale should he fail to meet their high expectations.

In other Rangers news, the club have already sorted a permanent summer signing with a deal to bring in one English Championship player “already agreed.”
