Rangers: Scott Allan raves about ‘absolutely fantastic’ Todd Cantwell vs Aberdeen live on BBC Sportscene
Scott Allan was effusive in his praise for “absolutely fantastic” Rangers ace Todd Cantwell after his winning goal against Aberdeen at Ibrox.
The midfielder fired the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win midway through the second half, steering a James Tavernier corner inside the far post on the volley to avenge the defeat suffered at Pittodrie a fortnight ago (23 April).
And former Celtic and Hibs man Allan emphasised the ability the January signing showed to dispatch the strike with apparent ease.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene on Sunday (7 May, 41m 25s) the Arbroath midfielder said: “The goal’s an absolutely fantastic finish, I think he makes it look easier than it is.
“It’s actually a high cross from Tavernier but he just controls it so well into the bottom corner…
“It’s so hard, he makes it look easy, just strokes it in there. He’s been really good in the last few weeks I think.”
On the money
It is a great goal to take the points in a game that proved to be exactly what it was, a relative after-thought on the day Celtic’s title win was confirmed.
Some encouraging work from Robby McCrorie in goal, and appearances for Ridvan Yilmaz, Ianis Hagi and Rabbi Matondo are potentially of more significance in the long-term for Michael Beale, but there was no escaping the fact that Cantwell produced the best moment on the day.
The former Norwich man has proven to be a handy addition to a side that is still in need of serious work, with Alfredo Morelos’ departure now confirmed by the manager.

If the 25-year-old can build on a solid first half-season at Ibrox from the start of the new campaign he is likely to be a key man for Beale.
The revival under the current Gers boss has ultimately fallen well short this year, proving that it was not a quick fix that the club needed.
If he is backed in the transfer market by the rapidly changing Rangers hierarchy, and has identified the right targets, he should be able to mount more of a challenge next season, but he will be under pressure as soon as the action starts.
Either way, Cantwell looks likely to be at the centre of proceedings after outlining his ability at Ibrox this weekend.
In other Rangers news, an agent has admitted it is his and his client’s aim to move this summer amid reports of a deal with the Light Blues in the offing.
