Gary Keown takes EBT swipe at Rangers as ‘nuclear war’ verdict shared on recent exit
Gary Keown has shared his reaction as Andrew Dickson has seen his time at Rangers come to an end in another high-profile departure at Ibrox.
Between 2001 and 2010 Rangers paid over £47million into their Employee Benefit Scheme (EBT), per the Scottish Sun.
In his recent column for the Scottish Mail on Sunday, page 127, 7 May, Keown has not minced his words speaking about Stuart Robertson, who also will be leaving the club.

He wrote, “How exciting it will be to discover which ‘new opportunities’ Robertson is exploring when he stands down in July.
“But this must be some ‘new project’ if Robertson, whose last known wage was revealed in 2019 to be £311,000-a-year including bonus, is willing to give up eight years of good earning at Rangers to follow his dreams.
“Maybe he’s planning to oversee the publicity operation for the Ibrox memoirs of departing finance chief Andrew Dickson, who survived everything over 32 years other than a nuclear war.
“Good grief, what a barnstormer that would be. A magnum opus of death, rebirth, moonbeams, vendettas, gazebos on the pitch and concomitant risk.
“Fifty grand to talk to the author or you don’t get through the door. Everyone’s planning to promote their books this way. It’s the future. Just no payment to EBT, thanks.”
Rotten
Keown will find every reason to bring up Rangers’ past obstacles and use it as a stick to poke them and their fans with.
However, he does make a very valid point about how the structure and culture of this club are rotten and need to be changed as soon as possible.
The number of high-profile departures at the club only signifies that there is a change coming and the fans are the happiest about this.

They can finally get back to supporting the club that Rangers are known to be and this could be the start of a new dawn at Ibrox.
It may be wishful thinking, but fans can certainly hope for the best and good performances on the pitch will certainly help what goes on behind the scenes.
This is an interesting time for Rangers and with their chance to reset things, it remains to be seen if they actually end up utilising it or not.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
