Besiktas seriously consider move for Ridvan Yilmaz, player wants to stay at Rangers
Ridvan Yilmaz is a serious transfer target for Besiktas this summer, but the player’s priority is to stay at Rangers according to reports.
Yilmaz moved to Ibrox from Besiktas last summer in a £4m move but has struggled to make an impact in his debut season after suffering with injuries and being behind Borna Barisic in the pecking order.
And according to journalist Serdar Saridag (8 May) the Turkish club have “seriously discussed” a return for the young left-back, but Yilmaz is intent on staying in Glasgow.
“The possibility of Ridvan Yilmaz returning to Besiktas is seriously discussed,” he said, as quoted by Skorer (8 May).
“However, the priority of the player is to stay in Rangers.”
Good attitude
If Rangers are to let Yilmaz leave the club this summer then it would be a monumental failure of a transfer and for no good reason.
Whenever he has played he has looked more than competent and with the right coaching there is no reason that he wouldn’t improve as a player.

Barisic has proven time and again that he isn’t good enough and as he enters his 30’s and the final year of his contract at the club we should be looking at options to replace him.
In a summer that is set to be incredibly busy with an overhaul of the playing staff, it would make no sense to move him on when he was brought in for that exact reason without giving him a real opportunity to show if he’s good enough.
Unless we’re making our money back or better then it would be a waste of time and just add another position that we need to fill.
In other Rangers news, Beale should be sacked after what he did following the win v Aberdeen.
