Rangers confirmed XI v Aberdeen: Five changes as Michael Beale wields the axe
Rangers line-up has been confirmed for the Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen on Sunday (07 May).
Michael Beale has named five changes from the team that lost 1-0 to Celtic last Sunday in the Scottish Cup semi-final, in what is the first of five post-split league fixtures.
The Gers have nothing left to play for in a competitive sense, with Celtic having the chance to be crowned title winners with a win, in their game against Hearts at Tynecastle.
Veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor is given the day off as Robby McCrorie comes in to stake his claim, between now and the end of the campaign.
James Tavernier continues at right-back, as do Connor Goldson and Ben Davies but Ridvan comes in for Borna Barisic, with the Croatian’s absence confirmed by the manager on Friday.
Nicolas Raskin and John Lundstram keep their places, but it all changes up front.

Only Todd Cantwell remains from last week with Ianis Hagi, Rabbi Matondo and Fashion Sakala starting, in place of Malik Tillman, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, with the Colombian on the bench.
Point to prove
There may be nothing on the line in a competitive sense, but several players need to put in a performance against an in-form Aberdeen side who have recorded seven consecutive victories with just one goal conceded, in a fantastic run under now-permanent boss, Barry Robson.
He masterminded the recent 2-0 victory over the Gers at Pittodrie, their last game, with Beale’s team punished for not taking their chances in the first half.
They will need to make amends for that, today, in front of a simmering Ibrox crowd who won’t show much patience, following the bitter disappointment of last week at Hampden.
On the day, the effort was there but the quality just wasn’t. A few players now have their chance to stake a claim for their future and in all honesty, they need to take full advantage.
Kick-off at Ibrox is at 3pm, with the hosts needing to bounce back to winning ways after two consecutive losses.
