Michael Beale rips into Alfredo Morelos after what he saw v Aberdeen, announces he will leave Rangers
Michael Beale has ripped into Alfredo Morelos after his performance against Aberdeen and announced he will be leaving Rangers this summer.
The Colombian was named on the bench as Fashion Sakala started in the number nine role and came on after Todd Cantwell’s only goal in the 1-0 win.
But Morelos had a poor showing after coming off the bench and Beale used his post-match press conference to call “El Buffalo” out for his showing and announce that he is “moving on” from Ibrox this summer.
“I think you saw the difference in energy in the forward area when Morelos came on,” he said, as quoted by Martyn Ramsay (7 May). “And not in a positive way.
Official club partner Heart and Hand verified the quote from the presser and added some more context.
“MB says Morelos is ‘moving on’,” they wrote on their Twitter account.
“Said, ‘I sometimes think we are the most wasteful team I’ve seen. We miss unbelievable chances.'”
Time to go
Morelos doesn’t want to be here and now Beale has grown sick of him too with nothing to play for, so he doesn’t need to pull the shirt on again.
We will always love and remember him for what he did during his time here, but the last 12 months have turned the relationship sour and it’s best for everyone that he goes.

Beale was clearly trying to stick with him to have a focal point in the side but with nothing left to play for now he is experimenting more and giving other players a chance.
Morelos won’t be here next season and so he doesn’t need to be part of the upcoming games as we plan our squad for the new campaign.
He can say his goodbyes in his suit on the pitch on the day of the final home game, but the number 20 doesn’t need to be donned on the pitch again this season.
