Chris Sutton makes Rangers and Celtic comparison as he predicts Ibrox transfer exodus this summer

Chris Sutton has slammed the big players at Rangers for not showing up in recent games and believes Celtic have reacted far better in comparison.

He believes that Ange Postecoglou has taken the players to another level at Celtic Park and that’s something Michael Beale and Gers need to learn from.

He also feels like there is a metal block at Ibrox which is stopping the players from performing in Old Firms and other big games.

He told Scottish Football Extra, via the Daily Record: “This Celtic team, mentally, are just on another level to Rangers. The Celtic players go into these games expecting to find a way to win. They don’t actually have to be at their very, very best.

“The Rangers team, they’ve got a bit of a mental block. It’s not helped of course that there’s going to be an exodus at Ibrox in the summer and certain big players, or at least players who have been big players for Rangers in the past, who simply haven’t turned up in the recent fixtures.

“But from Celtic’s point of view, I always go back to the start when Ange Postecoglou came into the club and where they are now. That’s maybe a lesson for the noisy – or less noisy neighbours – across the city now.”

Rich

It’s a bit rich coming from Sutton after Rangers have had a bad year but he wasn’t saying much when they were Invincible or even made it to the Europa League final.

He can enjoy this season and bask in Celtic’s glory but Gers seem to mean business this summer.

There have been major behind-the-scenes changes at board level and there’s going to be an exodus in the summer, as Sutton rightly predicts.

Rangers

Beale will be given the funds to strengthen and hopefully, the club backs him with the right signings in order to get to Celtic’s level.

They will also have Champions League football if they manage to qualify and it seems like the Ibrox outfit will be in Pot 3.

This will certainly increase their chances of getting something from the group stage based on points and also a shot of making it to the next round if they have a favourable draw.

In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
