Rangers must sign ten players as ‘total domination’ scenario arises – pundit
Barry Ferguson has claimed Rangers need to sign ten players during the summer transfer window to stop Celtic’s “total domination”.
The Light Blues’ season is now completely dead, with there now zero chance of Rangers picking up a trophy before the 2022/23 campaign reaches its conclusion.
With change afoot in the boardroom and on the pitch, Ferguson believes a significant number of players will have to come through the door.

A few months ago I’d have held one hand up and said five. It’s the million-dollar question. My opinion has changed since then, I’m afraid,” said the former Rangers midfielder (Daily Record, 5 May).
“It’s another hand in the air and it’s more like 10 new faces required in what’s going to be the biggest rebuild at the club for a very long time.
“Celtic are the team on top, they have set the bar, it’s been total domination this season and Rangers need to chase them down.”
Needed
Ten new arrivals would be a significant overhaul, but it’s needed. Particularly if there are a number of departures at Ibrox. It’s important for Michael Beale to find a balance. He cannot completely rip up his squad and build from scratch next season. There needs to be some sort of cohesion.
Unfortunately for the Light Blues boss, he has to deliver, with Celtic closing in on Rangers’ tally of Scottish Premiership titles. The pressure is firmly on. The Light Blues have to start fast and ensure they are on the coattails of their Old Firm rivals from the start.

Beale actually has a good chance to assess his squad. The remainder of the 2022/23 campaign should be treated as an extension to pre-season for the Gers. The Light Blues boss should give some of his younger players a chance to shine, with Alex Lowry, Leon King and Adam Devine all in desperate need of game time.
In other Rangers news, John Bennett and other investors are said to be ready to dig deep to stump up new transfer cash.
