Rangers may have brand new deal amid changing media landscape – Heart and Hand
Heart and Hand, the official media partners for Rangers, are refusing to rule out a media deal for the club away from Sky Sports.
This means that instead of the games being shown on Sky Sports or any other rights holder, the club will show them on their OTT platform.
While this has not been decided yet, any changes can come into place only at the end of the current deal with Sky Sports.
Heart and Hand wrote on Twitter, “Wouldn’t rule anything out, the media landscape is changing so rapidly.”
Makes sense
This will be a good deal for the fans and the clubs as the money will directly go to the coffers and there will be more accountability and transparency as well.
It’s good to see that these ideas are at least out there and there’s a very good chance that in the future, every club has their own OTT platform for their games.
The official leagues may have certain deals too giving all the matches to fans that want to watch all games, but that will be at a premium.

It’ll be interesting to see where these things go as things are constantly changing and everyone looking for new ways to make money while the fans will want the best way to access content related to the club.
Rangers TV, apart from matches, offers so much more to the fans and a lot of supporters could pivot to that if the games are being broadcasted.
There have also been talks in England to scrap the 3pm blackout and that’s a change that may even happen all across the board.
In other Rangers news, the club are clearly playing a sick joke with their supporters after they made an announcement about a senior player.
