Craig Moore shares what he has heard about Jack Butland to Rangers transfer latest
Craig Moore shared information on Jack Butland’s aspirations as part of any potential move to Rangers, as featured on the Go Radio Football Show [02 May].
The Australian revealed what he has heard regarding the England international goalkeeper who is said to be open to kickstarting his career as a first-choice player, in Glasgow.
The expectation is that long-serving Rangers keeper Allan McGregor will retire at the end of the season, requiring a new long-term option between the posts.

Former club captain Moore keeps a close eye on developments at Ibrox, as well as maintaining good contacts at the club and around Scottish football.
“I believe that he is someone that is of real interest to the football club, in terms of his ability,” he said.
“He is a goalkeeper that would love to be playing more. He has a huge presence and by all accounts wouldn’t mind playing for Rangers.
“Again, that is just what I am hearing. Rangers definitely need a number one goalkeeper.”

Key priority
The goalkeeper question is undoubtedly one of the priorities that needs to be answered emphatically, over the coming months.
Through the years, Rangers have benefitted from a line of top-class stoppers, from Chris Woods and Andy Goram to Stefan Klos and McGregor whose long reign is about to come to a conclusion.
Ideally, a new number one will be identified and brought to the club to serve for the next three to four years but Michael Beale will need to strike a balance with his spending, given the need for a quality striker among other stark requirements for his side.
An option like Butland on a free transfer would be near the top level that the club could attract from the out-of-contract market, leaving funds to be used elsewhere.
It is a known, key priority to land a quality goalkeeper and Jack Butland is very much a contender.
