Rangers need to look at Celtic with transfer news likely at Ibrox on Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos
Brian Laudrup insists that Rangers need to look across Glasgow when considering replacements for Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, to emulate the impact that the likes of Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi have made for Celtic as stated in his Scottish Daily Mail column [02 May].
The Great Dane was very underwhelmed with the performances of the Rangers pair in Sunday’s Old Firm encounter.
He stressed the need for Michael Beale to find players who will deliver “real numbers in attack” as part of the summer rebuild.

Laudrup warned that the pressure is on to make the right signings ahead of the new season, with a dire need for quality.
“It’s blindingly obvious Beale needs to find a new star striker. And at least one winger who poses a consistent attacking threat,” he said
“We’re not just talking about good players who are nice to watch in general play. Forget that. I’m thinking about players who will deliver numbers in terms of goals. Real numbers.
“You only need to look across the city. In terms of consistency of output, Rangers need their own answers to Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota. That’s basically it.”

Easier said than done
Laudrup is right in what he is saying, you don’t have to be a world-class, former player and legend of the club to see where he is coming from.
For too long, the need for quality has been overlooked or under-executed leading to this critical stage in the coming months where selling clubs will be aware of the need at Ibrox to deliver significant signings.
Kent and Morelos have been key figures over the last few years but just like their impact, their time has gone. The game is up, all over.
It is sad how things have panned out, it should have been much better in terms of a successful conclusion to two meaningful contributions to Rangers but there will be no trophies or transfer fees to show for their exploits.
Their respective replacements will be one of many questions that Rangers and Beale need to find the answer to, very quickly.
In other Rangers news, Michael Beale responds to question of 12 players to leave Ibrox this summer.
