Rangers injury news as Malik Tillman set to miss some time after nightmare

Malik Tillman is set to miss some time of action for Rangers after sustaining a “nightmare” injury against Celtic last weekend, according to American Soccer Now.

The Bayern Munich loanee pulled up just over half an hour into the 1-0 Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Ange Postecoglou’s side and was eventually substituted for Scott Arfield.

American Soccer Now have now shared an update on the 20-year-olds injury in an article titled “Ream, Zendejas, Tillman injured in nightmare weekend for Yanks abroad”.

The report then goes on to say that Tillman is “set to miss some time” for the Gers as Michael Beale prepares his side for their post-split fixtures.

Big blow

Although Tillman has blown hot and cold at times this season, there is no doubting his match-winning ability.

The United States international has been a crucial goalscoring force for Beale this season, netting 12 goals and providing five assists since moving to Glasgow last summer.

The frustration Rangers fans will be that the loanee has gone missing on the big stage, being replaced in some capacity before the final whistle in all five Old Firm matches this season and struggling to make any sizeable impact against the league leaders.

Despite this, Beale will not be thrilled by the news that one of his key creative forces will be missing for the beginning of the post-plot fixtures.

Whether this injury may stall plans to make Tillman’s loan signing a permanent one in the summer is still debatable, but for the time being, Beale will have to shuffle his pack and try to accommodate for the ill-timed injury update.
